A few facetious thoughts. And yes, I realize the categories below aren't mutually exclusive... If you're an Atheist, you feel conflicted, b/c as much as you resent Christianity for threatening you with the horrors of hell, you have to admit that taking a few days off to spend time with family and friends isn't such a bad idea--neither is that iPad 2 you just found under the tree. If you're an Agnostic, the struggle to reconcile the horrors of hell with the joy of Christmas is just one more reason to keep your options open--and to pour

Throughout the production of Hellbound?, one of the questions I get asked most often is, "How is the film going to end?" By that, I assume what most people really mean is, "What's your position on hell?" Of course, I'm no Rob Bell (Who can afford the smart guy glasses?) But like him, I'm far too cagey to give a direct answer. Instead, I typically respond by saying we're taking a critical look at every view on hell in order to provoke informed discussion. I'm not interested in telling viewers what to think. Rather, my goal is

For those of you who don't know a lot about the film making process, I thought I'd write a periodic series of blog posts to "pull back the veil" on what it takes to make a film. For starters, you may already know that there are three basic stages to creating a film: 1) Pre-production: This includes every aspect of development up until the cameras roll, from generation of the initial concept to creation of key artwork, outlines, scripting, scouting, etc. 2) Production: This is the stage most people think of when they think about movie-making. This is boots on the ground, cameras

It came from Miroslav Volf. My summation: A lot of people blame religion for much of the violence in the world, which must be acknowledged as fact. But at the same time, we must acknowledge that all of the efforts to exterminate religion throughout the past century have led to even greater violence. So the solution is not less religion but more religion--true religion though, not religion that has been co-opted by personal or national vendettas and

According to our Facebook insights, we are trending quite heavily toward the male side of the population. Just over 67% of our "likers" are men, and over half of them are in the 25-44 years age category. What does that tell me? That perhaps men are a little more concerned about the status of their eternal fate--maybe with good reason. :) At any rate, we'd love to have more likers. So please spread the

That's the question I'm puzzling over right now as we ramp up promotional efforts for Hellbound? When we first started shooting, I was only too happy to keep people up to date on where we were going and who we were interviewing. But as things progress, I've been trying to find the line between building anticipation and preventing frustration. You know, sort of like a burlesque dancer. So that explains why we've been a bit cagey about the point of view the film takes on hell, let alone who is in it. I don't know about you, but

Don't mind the scaffolding, and hopefully you're not allergic to dust. You'll have to put up with a few inconveniences for the next few weeks as we get this web site up and running. I think we have most of the bugs worked out. So now it's just a matter of putting up some high quality content to whet your appetite for the film and keep you coming back for more. Just to fill you in on our progress, we began principal photography on June 18 and wrapped things up on November 11. I believe we were on the road for
